The Xtraction Turf Muncher machine was recently used to reclaim valuable infill from All Weather Pitches at Premier League Champions Chelsea FC’s academy in Cobham, Surrey.
The UKAS laboratory-tested infill and carpet were then given a second life at sites in Rotherham and Hertfordshire.
Xtraction director Tim Gallagher said: “On-site reclamation reduces the carbon footprint linked to transportation and creates a viable product that might otherwise be disposed of in an unethical way.”
